Claude Louis Berry – Obituary

Claude Louis Berry, 80, died Monday, September 24, 2018. Visitation will be Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with the service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Brother Phillip Wright and Brother Reggie Bruce will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Claude was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church, employed at Triple A Welding for over 50 years of loyal service, and was a graduate of Colbert County High School, Class of 1955.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alcy Berry; brothers, Willard Berry and Billy Joe Berry; sister, Jeanette Sparks.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alice Mae “Mary Alice” Berry; daughter, Kim Berry; granddaughter, Jamie Garrie (the love of her granddaddy’s life); sisters, Mary Meadows (Jimmy) and Carolyn Woodruff; sisters-in-law, Libby Berry and Wanda Berry, and a  host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Brian Berry, Bevan Berry, Bill Cox, Myron Lackey, Larry Pounders, and Dave Askew. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Pace, Frank Pace, Lyle Askew, Ronnie Hardwick, Curtis Campbell, and Jerry McGee.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gideon’s International.

A special thanks to the ER staff at Helen Keller Hospital for the care given to our dear loved one, and to our family and friends for their prayers, visits, and support during this difficult time.
