Robert S. “Bob” Lough – Obituary

Robert S. “Bob” Lough, age 83, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his residence of 56 years in Lawrenceburg, TN.Bob was born February 6, 1929 in Hundred, West Virginia, to Maude Wyatt and raised by his loving grandparents, Ezra and Emma Lough. He has one sister, Betty Testerman.

Bob was married July 11, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to Madolyn King. Residing in Cleveland before moving to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee in 1956 with Murray Ohio Manufacturing as Supervisor in the receiving department.

He is a high school graduate with additional technical certification in electronics. Bob served our country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from February 1951 to January 1953 and completely discharged in 1956. He retained membership with the American Legion.

Bob retired from Murray Ohio Manufacturing in 1986 after 30 years employment in Cleveland, OH and Lawrenceburg, TN plants.
One of Bob’s favorite past times and hobby was playing golf everywhere, including Lawrence County Golf and Country Club, and achieving a hole-in-one in Tennessee and in Texas.

Bob and Madolyn attended First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. His faith and family were very important to him.

Bob is survived by his wife, Madolyn King Lough, Lawrenceburg, TN; daughter, Arlene Gail Sherwood and husband, Jay, Weston, WV; son, Robert J. Lough and wife, Donna, Lake Dallas, TX; daughter, Renee` Kane and husband, Ron, Grendada, MS. Six grandchildren, Nathan Lough, Lauren Lough, Sam Lough, Jessica Kane, Hunter Sherwood, and Rachel Kane. A special mention to the friends who were family especially during recent times of need and along the way.

Preferred Charities and Donations
In memory of Bob, who has been a blessing and gift to his family as a son, husband, father, and friend, any contributions felt to be made are requested by the family to be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to help the children and their families in honor and memory of our love for Bob.
