Linda Ruth Shirley Grizzard, 76 of the Brashiers Chapel Community, died Friday September 21, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Grizzard was born August 2, 1942 in Marshall County to Quinn T. Shirley and Victoria Brazelton Shirley. She worked for First National Bank in Guntersville and later for Marshall County Gas District as an office manager/clerk where she retired after 27 years. She and Charles Asa Grizzard were married for 57 years. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers and loved spending time with her family.
She was a member of New Brashiers Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Charles A. Grizzard; her sons and daughters-in-law: Jeffery Charles Grizzard and Gwen and Anthony Joe Grizzard and Vickie; her daughter: Serina Lynn Matteson; her brother and sister-in-law: Mike Shirley and Venita; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Ann Kirkland-Wright and Dannie and Pam Brock and Stuart; her grandchildren: Daniel Meinert, Anna Brook Meinert-Doaks and Jeremie, Nathanael Grizzard and Lindsay Grizzard and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday September 23, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev: Mike Shirley, officiating. Burial will be in Diamond Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Meinert, Nigel Grizzard, Josh Garmany, Luke Shirley, Steve Kirkland, Mike King, Jeremie Doaks and Dion Rainwater.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday September 23, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel prior to the service.
