 D.9.23.18 Lyle ODell.jpgFuneral services for Lyle O’Dell, 89, of Morgan County will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home, 711 Memorial Dr. SW, Decatur, Alabama with Alan Watkins officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Mr. O’Dell passed away peacefully Thursday, September 20th at his residence located in Huntland, Tennessee after a long illness. Mr. O’Dell was born in Town Creek, Alabama on June 27, 1929. He retired from Conagra, Inc. in 1993. Mr. O’Dell served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Roberts in California. He was an active member of the American Legion, Post 15. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, country music, and cars.

He is survived in death by his son, Danny O’Dell, Pace, Florida and Ronnie Marlin O’Dell; a daughter, Kathy Owens, Decatur, Alabama; stepchildren, Kenneth Black, Michael Black, Bradley Elmore, and Donna Elmore-Bagar; grandsons, Reggie Owens, Jason Black, Justin Black, Jeff Newton, Steve Newton, and Chris Cooke; granddaughters, Amanda Cannon, Andrea Black, Cecil Newton, Amanda Cooke, and Dana O’Dell (deceased).

Mr. O’Dell leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

Pallbearers at the service will be Rocky O’Dell, James O’Dell, Craig O’Dell, Phillip Bolan, Reggie Owens, and Walt Bagar.

Lyle O’Dell’s final resting place will be at Hartselle Memory Gardens, Hartselle, Alabama.
