Danielle Leigh Adams, 27, went gladly to spend eternity with Jesus Christ, surrounded by friends and family on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at her home in Tupelo.
She was born Aug. 12, 1991, to Roy V. and Bonnie L. Gasaway Adams. She grew up in the Ryan’s Well community in Itawamba County, northeast of Fulton.
She was a 2008 graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School. She was an opera performance major at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her senior year, Danielle studied German at the University of Bonn in Germany.
She spent a year in New York City, studying with a vocal teacher, working as a paralegal and singing in several operas.
Danielle was a joyful participant in roles, both onstage and back stage, at Tupelo Community Theatre. She was Cosette in “Les Mis,” and appeared in “Company” and “The Last Five Years” at TCT Off Broadway. She directed several shows, including “Shrek Jr.” and “Peter and the Star Catcher.”
Danielle loved singing and being a member of the First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir and assisting with the Youth Choir. She adored each and every private voice student she had the honor of teaching, as well as the students who came through her classrooms for the two years she taught public school music to kindergartners to 12th-graders at Hamilton Attendance Center.
She loved to travel to new places and loved to learn from others how to make life even more beautiful.
Most of her amazing accomplishments were made while Danielle was also battling for her life.
She fought a five-year battle with cancer with immeasurable strength and courage – and amazing grace – setting aside her fears and leaping constantly in the direction of faith.
Most important to Danielle were her family and friends who, throughout her illness found constant ways to fulfill God’s promises of abundant life for her. She experienced the hands and feet of Christ in action daily through the prayers and actions of those she loved so much.
Survivors include her father, Roy V. Adams of Fulton; a brother, Dennis Adams of Hernando; sister, Judy (Jeffery) Stewart of Fulton; sister, Emily Mote of Tupelo; three nieces, Ariel Turner, Olivia Adams and Sophia Grace Stewart; and two aunts, Judy (Jackie) Hood of Fulton and Carolyn Sparks of Belmont.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie L. Adams.
