Kay Brooks Cook Kay Brooks Cook, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at her residence, in Columbia, Tennessee.

Kay was born on May 18, 1942, in Athens, Alabama, to Morgan Lee and Annie Mae Boyd Brooks. She married Warren Cook on June 9, 1959, whom she loved dearly and was a wonderful mother to their children. She was a devoted employee, having worked at Publix Shirt Factory, Quality Transportation, and later as a phlebotomist. She was a long-time member of Collegevue Church of Christ. Kay was a devout Christian, who enjoyed reading her Bible and singing hymns. She and her husband, Warren, were also very generous. They loved to give, but never expected anything in return. You could usually find Kay in the kitchen, making something good for someone she loved. She really enjoyed the holidays, especially, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The most important things to her were her faith and her family. She was a very loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and best friend.

Kay is survived by her twin: Faye Colvett; children: Michael Wayne Cook of Culleoka, Connie Melissa Barnhart of Columbia and Warren Christopher (Leigh) Cook of Chapel Hill; grandchildren: Kendall Leigh (David) Boyett, Kala (Brian) McClendon, Michael Tyler Barnhart, Ryan Casey Barnhart, Amber LeeAnn Cook and Elizabeth Morgan Cook; and great-grandsons: Triston Michael Green and Anderson McClendon. She was preceded in death by her parents: Morgan and Annie Brooks; husband: Warren Cook; siblings: Luther Brooks, Junior Brooks, Kenneth Brooks, Bobby Brooks, Betty Jean Brooks, Frances Ann Colvett, Jimmy Colvett, and Larry Colvett.
