Malcolm Harold “Mack” Fleming – Obituary

Malcolm Harold “Mack” Fleming, 78, was born December 27, 1939 and left this world for his heavenly home September 11, 2018. John 3:16 was his special verse and he had a lot of faith to the end. His faith was non-denominational and he loved the Lord and always said there were good people in all churches. He loved to watch “Shephard Chapel” on television every day and loved Alabama football. He was retired from police work, Certified Alarm where he was a supervisor for twelve years over the guards and Baymont, Inc. for fourteen years as a truck driver. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.

 

Services will be Friday, September 14, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Tony Gasaway and Bro. Charles Canterbury officiating. Burial will be in Old Town Creek Cemetery, Moulton, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

 

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of thirty-three years – Elizabeth Fleming, Red Bay, AL; daughter – Nonnie Miller (Greg); granddaughter – Laken Moorehouse (Chris); grandsons – Tanner Miller and girlfriend, Mary and Dawson Miller, all of Vina, AL; a great-granddaughter, Maeleigh James Moorehouse, he loved that he never got to meet; two brothers – Donald Fleming, Russellville, AL and Dwight Fleming (Betty) Leighton, AL; one sister – Martha Canterbury (Charles) Hartselle, AL; brother-in-law – Roger Grimes, Tupelo, MS and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayburn and Jimmie Lou Hick Fleming, a sister, Vicky Burns, a sister-in-law, Jane Fleming and his father and mother-in-law, Herman and Geneva Massey Grimes.

 

Pallbearers will be Paul Swinney, Frankie Taylor, Timmy Fleming, Tim Fuller, Adam Ziegenbeing and Fernando.

 

The family would like to thank Hospice of North Alabama, Kindred Home Health, Moulton DCI and Dr. Reginald Gladish, his nephrologist, for being so kind and helping in any way he could.

 

Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
