T. David Johnson, Sr. – Obituary

T. David Johnson, Sr. of Pulaski passed away on September 7, 2018. He was born in Giles county on May 13, 1925 and was 93 years old.
Mr. Johnson graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. After the war, he graduated from Cumberland Law School. He and his brothers were pioneers in the automobile auction business. They owned local automobile dealerships in Pulaski throughout their professional life. David was on also on the first Tennessee Automobile Commission, and a member of the Pulaski Exchange Club. He was an investor in Sundrop Bottling Co. Inc, for many years. Mr. Johnson and his family were devoted members of the First Presbyterian Church in Pulaski.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 10th at 2:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church with Robert Montgomery officiating.
Burial in Maplewood Cemetery
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wade Long Johnson, parents, Guy and Erna Johnson, brother, Julian Johnson, and sister, Eva Bennett.
He is survived by his,
Son, Thomas David (Beverly) Johnson, Jr. of Pulaski
Daughter, Katherine (John) Lee of California
Daughter, Anne J. Ruark of Nashville
Grandchildren, Thomas David (Lisa) Johnson III, Laura Jessup, Lisa (Mickey) May, Mary-Sumpter (Matt) Lapinski, Jonathan Lee, and Robert (Liz) Ruark
