Obituary of Jeremy Lee JohnsonJeremy Lee Johnson, 31, of Decatur, AL, passed away on September 5, 2018. A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 8, at 11:00 am to Roselawn Funeral Home with Paul Cheshier officiating. Jeremy is survived by his fiancé, Katie Couch; father and stepmom, Jeff and Linda Johnson; brother, Joshua Johnson; grandmother, Patsey Johnson; uncles, Jimbo Johnson and Joey Johnson, and cousin, Shannon Johnson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gwen Lock. Jeremy was a great guy with a contagious smile. He had a carefree, wandering spirit until he reconnected with his fiancé and settled into life with her. Jeremy loved the Lord and sought Him with his full heart. He was a loving man to his fiancé Katie and her children of whom he loved as his own. Jeremy knew with his health problems that his time on Earth might be limited. He would always say that would not define him or hold him back, and he refused to live in fear of it because he knew God was in control. Right before Jeremy passed, he was sharing with a co-worker that if God could forgive him for his past that God would forgive him too. And that he just had to ask. Jeremy would want his life to be remembered in a way that is pleasing to God. Jeremy fought hard to have the life he had and had overcome the demons in his life. He always said, “I just have to make the right choice, put one foot in front of the other, and take it day by day. Every day is a gift, just remember that, so make it count. If you want something bad enough you have to fight for it…every day.”
