The funeral service for Ronnie Waters, age 59 of Lineville, will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Christiana Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Waters passed away, Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Clay County Hospital. He was a native and life-long resident of Randolph County and owner of Waters Construction. Ronnie loved his grandchildren and loved riding on the lake. He was a member of Christiana Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Waters of Lineville; one daughter, Melanie Duke (Jessie) of Lineville; two sons: Rodney Waters of Lineville and Matthew Waters (Ragan) of Lineville; three sisters: Janice Zeigler (Sam) of Jefferson, GA, Debra Taylor of Talladega and Tina Clarke (Keith) of Delta; one brother, Terry Waters (Karol) of Lineville; ten grandchildren: Zachary Duke, Spencer Duke, Daisy Duke, Skyler Waters, Riley Mitchell, Samuel Spears, Breanna Garrett, Taylor Smith, Marilyn Fielder and Joshua Bryant; 1 great-granddaughter, Kensley Garrett; several nieces and nephews plus a large extended family.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents: Clydene and Marcella Waters; two brothers: Grady and Keith Waters and one sister, Lora Mae Waters.
Pallbearers will be Zach Duke, Wayne Ford, Braeden Zeigler, Jeremy Clarke, Michael Waters, Skyler Waters, Stacy Mitchell and Ricky McCain.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shorty Gabino, Nicky Butler, Thomas Baker and Donald Morrison.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. Mr. Waters will lie in state for an hour prior to the service at the church.
