Mr. Clayton Edward ClemonsMr. Clayton Edward Clemons, age 78, of Union Chapel Community of Union Grove, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Hospice Family Care.
Mr. Clemons was born on March 17, 1940 to R.D. Clemons and Dessie Gibbs Clemons in Marshall County. He had been married to Mrs. Joy Darnell Clemons for 57 years. Mr. Clemons enjoyed Alabama Football, gardening, hunting and fishing. Mr. Clemons loved his church family and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mr. Clemons was survived by his wife, Joy Darnell Clemons; son & Daughter-in-law, David Clemons & Tammy; daughter & son-in-law, Debbie Sturgeon & Donnie; grandchildren, Sydney Sturgeon, Haley Clemons, Chris Hamby; sisters & brother-in-law, Doris McGraw, Yvonne Johnson & Hubert. Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Adam Clayton Sturgeon; sisters, Louise Rutherford, Virginia Logan.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Herbert & Rev. David Norton, officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Max Henry, Bill Rutherford, Chris Hamby, James Smith, Tommy McGraw, Alton Lamons.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
