H.T. Miller, Jr. – Obituary

H.T. Miller, Jr., 79, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. He was born July 1, 1939 to Huston T. Miller and Dewdrop Gentry Miller in Booneville, MS. He was a faithful member of The Church of God at Palestine.  He owned and operated a small store in Red Bay and bought and sold used cars with his father. He worked for the City of Red Bay for a few years and at Sunshine Homes for over thirty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed and loved his family and liked woodworking and gospel music.

 

Services will be Friday, September 7, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Marshall Green officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

 

He is survived by his wife – Margaret Miller; daughter – Sonya Miller; son – Nathan Miller (Alisa); grandchildren – Tonya Pharr Allen (Josh), Bradley Miller, Kalynn Miller Warren (Hunter), Tosha Pharr, Kevin Pharr and Leigh Anne Miller; step-grandchildren – Jennifer Oswalt Langley (Ryan), Mallory Oswalt and Rebecca Hodges; great-grandchildren – Celest Allen, Stasia Allen, Bradyn Warren, Ridge Langley and Maggie Miller and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steve Miller, three sisters, Lydia Rae Wilemon Harris, Annie Mae Wilson Hill and Burrie Stevens; two brothers, Faye Miller and Ellis T. Buford Miller and three nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be Bradley Miller, Hunter Warren, Jerrett McClain, Buddy McClain, Chris Ginn and Wade Stevens. Honorary pallbearer will be Kevin Pharr.

 

Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
