Charlotte Louise Hill was born July 23, 1931 in Fresno, CA to the home of Alberta (Allen) and John Bippus and died Aug. 30, 2018 in Sparta, TN. Mrs. Hill grew up in Fresno until her early teen years when she moved to Coquille, OR to live with her grandparents. She graduated from high school there in 1949, and worked for two years in a local bank. After moving back to Fresno, she became re-acquainted with Les Hill, whom she had met several years earlier. They were married on Oct. 20, 1951 there in Fresno. They moved several times over the years due to her husband’s work in the oil fields. Most of her working life was spent in banking, mostly with Bank of America and Security Pacific. She retired in 1987 as Vice President of Operations with Security Pacific in Wasco, CA.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling, and particularly enjoyed their trip to Hawaii and their extended trip to Alaska. She also enjoyed golfing, skeet shooting, bowling and flower gardening. She was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was Guardian for Job’s Daughters. She and her husband moved to Portales in 2006 to be near their daughter and son-in-law. In recent years she has been in TN where her daughter and son-in-law retired.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Marty Anderson of Quincy, CA and Linda and Bruce Linsten of Sparta, TN; five grandchildren; and a former daughter-in-law and her husband, Debbie (Hill) and Gene Beal of Bakersfield, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Be Hill who died in 2007 and by her husband, Les Hill who died April 3, 2009.
