CHEROKEE“Each Labor Day holiday, locals and visitors from near and far gather at the Key Underwood Memorial Coon Dog Cemetery in northwestern Alabama for a one-of-a-kind celebration filled with music, food and fellowship. The annual Coon Dog Cemetery Labor Day Celebration pays tribute to the dogs and to those who loved them, especially the cemetery’s founder, Mr. Key Underwood, and the first dog buried here almost 81 years ago.”

This year Key Underwood Memorial Coon Dog Cemetery held their annual Decoration Day/Labor Day Celebration.  there was music, arts and crafts, food a buck dancing contest and a Liar’s contest.  Most of all it was a chance for the community to come together and have a good old-fashioned celebration. QCDNews ate too much and refused to buck dance…but did capture the celebration in pictures.   Enjoy!
