John W. Frost – Obituary

John W. Frost , 87, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018. He was born February 17, 1931, in Morgan County to Herman L. Frost and Rena Martin Frost. Mr. Frost was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, retired from Monsanto, and a Member of Eva Baptist Church since 1957.

Mr. Frost is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Dean Frost; one son, Keith Frost and wife, Jana; one daughter, Karen Frost and husband, Pete Beddow; three grandchildren, Emily Frost Hamilton (Jeff) and grandson, Jackson, John Frost (Jennifer), Katie Pate Smith (Jason) and grandson, Callen; one brother, Gilbert Frost; and one sister, Lois Newman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation be at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Sunday, September 2nd from 2 to 4 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 4 p.m. Reverend Philip Robinson and Reverend Roger Jenkins will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Burningtree Gardens Cemetery.

He met few strangers and never had a bad day. His outgoing personality and positive outlook earned many friends. No matter the circumstances, his “thumbs up” and “pretty good” response was ever-present. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandfather who left a legacy of love, humility, work ethic, and an undeniable will to live and not to give up.

Pallbearers will be John Frost, Pete Beddow, Jason Smith, Jeff Hamilton, Philip Fortenberry and Jason Fortenberry.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to his special caregivers, Virginia Patterson, Gail Sivley, Hope Livingston, Kandy Baily and Winonna King; staff of Dr. Becdach; and Hospice of the Valley for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Eva Baptist Church or Hospice of the Valley.
