Joe Creel – Obituary

Joe Creel, 71 went to be with Jesus on August 29, 2018. He and his wife Laura have lived in Arab since 1974. Mr. Creel was born on December 21, 1946 to Leo and Alyene Creel. Joe and Laura were set to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on September 1st.
Mr. Creel is survived by his wife, Laura who lives in Arab, his two sons and their families, Christopher, Kimberly and Callie Creel of Smyrna, GA and Jeffrey, Kayra, Anna Kate, Walker and Carson Creel of Vestavia, AL.
A celebration of life will be held at the Arab First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. The visitation will begin at 11:30, to be followed by the Celebration at 1:00 pm. Mr. Creel has decided to be cremated and his remains to reside at the National Cemetery in Montevallo Alabama. Joe served as a Captain in the Army Medical Service Corps. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, assisting the family.
Officiating will be Reverend Steve West of the Arab First United Methodist Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Arab First United Methodist Church.
The family also wishes to express the sincere appreciation to extended family members, to friends everywhere, to members and staff of Arab First United Methodist Church, the Ukulele Band of Alabama, and the United Methodist Men.
Joe Creel was a true disciple for Christ and we are forever grateful for the time God shared him with us.
