Edward William “Buster” Kelley, Sr. – Obituary

Edward William “Buster” Kelley, Sr., 87, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at his home. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Mr. Kelley served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Part of that military career was spent in Asia during the Korean War. Although Mr. Kelley traveled the world, he called North Alabama home.

Mr. Kelley is survived by his wife of 66 years, Katsue Mori Kelley; four children, Bettie Romer (John), Joseph William Kelley, II, (Karen), Shirley C. Kelley (Lynn Newton) and Edward William Kelley, Jr. (Tammy); grandchildren, Jeremy Kelley (Samantha), Kellie Ray (Dustin), Jessica Phillips (Jeff), Stephanie Parker and Melynie Chavez (Jesus); great-grandchildren, Gabby and Olivia Phillips, Ella and Henry Ray, Devyn and Danaka Chavez and Aubrey Kelley; brother, G.W. “Pete” Kelley (Kaye); and sister, Wynell Ridgeway (Willie, deceased) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph William Kelley, I and Reno Longshore Kelley; brothers, George H. Kelley, J.C. Kelley and Clifford J. Kelley (Estell); sisters, Louise Stockman (Cecil, deceased) and Willodean Hammond (Eddie).

Funeral services will be held at Rogersville Funeral Home on September 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be the same day as services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at Rogersville Civitan Cemetery following funeral services.
