On Monday, August 6th, 2018 Carl Green was critically injured while working with cattle on his farm, one of his favorite pastimes. After a vigorous fight, on Sunday August 19th at Huntsville Hospital, he left his earthly farm to tend the herd of God’s pasture. Carl’s passing befits his legendary life of storytelling, defeating many life challenges, physical hurdles and battles with cancer. Only to leave us with, yet, one more story of strength, endurance and perseverance.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral will be August 23rd at 11 a.m. in the chapel with burial to follow in Harvey Cemetery. Brother Rickey Green will be officiating, assisted by Brother Terry Herston.

Carl Allen Green was born February 20, 1937 to his parents Leo Jefferson and Mary Eula Green. Bethel United Methodist Church in 1944. He retired after 33 and a half years at Reynolds Metal Company. He was a devoted and loved husband, father, “great” pa and friend. Carl spent many years coaching little league baseball and teaching more than just the game; he taught about life.

Carl’s proudest achievement was his 62 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Jean. He is also survived by sons, Rickey (Alice) Green, Mark (Belinda) Green; daughter, Karen (Shannon) Sutton; grandchildren, Dakotah “Cody” (Mary) Green, Mollie (Casey) Ball, Maggie (Raleigh Killen) Green, Tara Schurfeld, Katie (Taylor) Eldridge, Braxton Davis; and grandpups, EmmyLou and Atticus; brother, Dick (Vickey) Green; sister, Doris Bradley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and other relations.
