Doc Alfred Charles Standen – Obituary

Doc Alfred Charles Standen, age 84 of Pulaski, TN, passed away on Sunday morning, August 19th, 2018, at the Hewitt House Assisted Living in Pulaski. He was born on May 26th, 1934 in Elyria, Ohio.
Alfred served in the U.S.Army and graduated from Ohio State University with four diplomas after eleven years of study. Doc Standen was a member of the East Hill Church of Christ and a beloved veterinarian for Giles County Animal Hospital here in Pulaski. He was a member of the Giles County Honor Guard and a loving, kind, and humble person to all who met him.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018 from 11:00 to 1:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018 in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
The burial with full military honors will follow in Giles Memory Gardens in Pulaski.
The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Short Mountain Bible Camp c/o 650 Bible Camp Road Woodbury, TN 37190

Dr. Standen was preceded in death by his parents Clifford Eugene and Mary Rogers Standen. His wife’s, Rachel Peeler Standen and Betty Ann Mills Standen.
He is survived by;
Gary Butler (Lisa) Standen of Elyria, Ohio.
Brother, Robert James Standen of Lorain, Ohio.
Step-daughter, Casey Hudgins of Duck River, TN.
Step-Grandchildren, Danielle (Marshall) Evans of Santa Fe, Tn. Jane Blackburn of Duck River, TN. Jessica Hudgins of Prospect, TN.

The family would like to thank Lawanda Slager and her team for taking such good care of him. And Latrenia Garner, his sitter, who was a blessing to us for the last two years.
