Dale Gower Norwood, 72, of Town Creek, Alabama went to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Visitation will be from 12 till 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Terry Settles, Edwin Smith and Kayla Norwood officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Town Creek.
Dale was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wendell Norwood; her parents, Wilburn Gower and Vera Scoggins Gower; and her brother, David Gower.
Dale leaves behind her three children, Tammie Norwood Nichols (Tim), Jerry Norwood (Angela), and Wendi Norwood Harwell (David). She also leaves behind five granddaughters, Jessica Nichols, Hailey Stephenson (Matt), Chelsea Stovall (Devon), Kayla Norwood and Taylor Harwell; one grandson, Nolan Norwood; and one great-grandson, Lincoln Stovall; along with her twin sister, Dean Gower Smith (Edwin), another sister, Joyce Gower Austin; two brothers, Kenneth Gower (Shelby) and Vernon Gower (Linda); and one sister-in-law, Sandra Norwood Poe.
Dale graduated from Hazelwood in 1964. She was a homemaker who raised three wonderful children as well as provided care for many other children in the community. Known by many as Mamaw Dale, she loved life and her family was everything to her. Dale was a member of Okolona Baptist Church where you could always hear her singing hymns. We take comfort in knowing that she is singing with the angels tonight!
Pallbearers are Nolan Norwood, Matt Stephenson, Devon Stovall, Joey Crumpton, Jeff Norwood, and Doug Smith.
