Erline Wilson Culver – Obituary

Erline Wilson Culver of Florence, Alabama passed away peacefully on August 10, 2018.  She was 89 years old.  Born and raised in Wright, Alabama, she lived in Florence for over 70 years.  She married her husband, J.L. Culver, in 1946 shortly after World War II and had one daughter, Janet Culver Cherry.  She and J.L. were married for over 68 years until his passing in 2014.  Erline is survived by her daughter, two grandsons, Dr. David Cherry and wife Cary and Mr. Brad Cherry and wife Dr. Meg Cherry, and four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Margaret, Charlotte and Elizabeth.

 

She was affectionately known as Moo-Maw, was a wonderful cook and host, and loved traveling, reading, boating, and water skiing.  She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.

 

Erline’s family would like to sincerely thank the following persons for the loving care they provided Erline in her final days:  Hospice of North Alabama and staff nurses Mallory and Leigh, Hill’s Health Service and caregivers Brittney, Angie J., Angie H., Emily, Shatarie and Amanda, and special thanks to Tracy Jurges and Mary Davis.

 

A visitation will be held at Elkins Funeral Home on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 10-11:00 a.m.., followed by a graveside service at Greenview Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Florence, Alabama.
