Robert W. “Bob” Wiesinger – Obituary

Mr. Robert W. “Bob” Wiesinger, age 80, husband of Diane Wiesinger, and a resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 10, 2018, at NHC – Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brian Wiesinger and Jeff Wiesinger officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 25, 1938 in Itabe, Yugoslavia, Bob was the son of the late Joseph Wiesinger and the late Elizabeth Szilagyi Wiesinger. He served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1962. He was a SP4E-4 Specialist 4th Class, Rifle and Bar Sharpshooter, Pistol Marksman, and Forward Observer. Bob married Diane Wink on November 23, 1963 and together they had two children. He was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene and previously worked as a produce manager for Safeway. Bob was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a king at trivia. He enjoyed watching Alf & Frazier TV shows, listening to music, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Diane, of 54 years, he is survived by his sons: Brian (Kim) Wiesinger of Thornton, CO, Jeff (Darlene) Wiesinger of Lincoln, NE; sister: Hilda (and Guenther) Jahn of Mesa, AZ; and grandchildren: Madison Ray, Allana Wiesinger, Rebecca Wiesinger, Mylee Wiesinger, Brady Wiesinger, and Maci Wiesinger.

Honorary pallbearers will include the members of Grace Church of the Nazarene.
