Johnnie Marlin Cauthern – Obituary

Johnnie Marlin Cauthern, 70, died Friday, August 10, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born October 24, 1947, to Clarence Verell and Musell Charlene Moore Cauthern. He worked for Mueller Copper in Fulton for 19 years and at Bucyrus International in Memphis for 15 years. He was a member of the Evergreen United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Richmond Masonic Lodge 97, Ancient and Accepted Scottish and York Rite of Free Masonry, Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of Mystic Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star No. 399, American Legion Post 51, United Steelworkers Union Local 8420 for 19 years, Teamsters Union Local 667 for 15 years, and the AARP.

Services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with the Rev. Tom Hawks officiating. Private burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.

Survivors include his brother, Clarence Timothy “Tim” Cauthern (Vernecial “Nikki”) and his sister, Bonnie Sue Cauthern, both of the Evergreen community; one niece, Miesha Schumpert (Lee); one nephew, Austin Cauthern; one great-niece, Lily Kate Cauthern; and two great-nephews, Ashton and Noah Schumpert.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Brown, Lee Schumpert, Tommy Schumpert, Milton Schumpert, Joe G. Sheffield, and Eric Thorn.
