Douglas ‘Pop” Potts – Obituary

Douglas ‘Pop” Potts, age 72, of Decatur, Alabama passed away on Tuesday August 7, 2018. Doug was born September 27, 1945 in Giles County, Tennessee. Pop enjoyed building birdhouses, hunting with his son in laws, Riding his lawnmower, spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren all 37 of them, cheering on the Crimson Tide and loved his church. Mr. Potts was preceded in death by his parents William & Margaret Potts, brother Allen Potts and one granddaughter Michelle Peden. Pop is survived by his loving wife Ellie Potts. Daughters Inez Cox and her husband Bobby, Angela Peden and her husband Walter, Patricia Crane and her husband Douglas and Annette Barber and her husband Charlie. 11 Grandchildren, 25 Great grandchildren and 1 Great great grandchild. Sister & brother-N-Law Betty & Jim Gridlock, two brothers William Potts, Jr. and John Andrew Potts, as well as a nephew Allen Potts. A visitation for Douglas “Pop” Potts will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. Celebration of Pop’s Life will be Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John White officiating.
