Betty Robison – Obituary

Mrs. Betty Robison, 88, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her residence in Russellville. A native of Russellville, Mrs. Robison was a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church No. 2 in Russellville, a member of Alabama Education Association, and a retired teacher after 25 years of service with the Franklin County School System as a first grade teacher at Belgreen School. Fondly remembered as “The Duck Lady, Mrs. Betty always began the new school year with duck eggs to be hatched in incubators in her classroom. As these eggs hatched and the ducks grew, the children learned important lessons like dependability, caring, sharing, life and death. Some of the ducks even made it to the children’s home where some of their lives continued for several years.

Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, August 10th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Kenneth Bond and Jerry Pounders officiating. Burial will be in KP Cemetery, Russellville. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey James, Eric Fuller, Billy Fuller, Jr., Jake Hester, Daniel Gaston and Hayden Gaston.

Surviving Mrs. Robison are her daughter Jill Adams and husband, Lee; grandchildren, William Berry Robison McGowen and Randi Nicole Robison; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, William Berry (Billy) Robison; son, William Berry Robison, Jr.; parents, William Bill and Nellie Faye Thornton Rogers; and sisters, Elsie Porter Tingle, Willodean Hester and Mary Ruth Gaston.

The family extends a special “thank you” to Jewel, Micki, Rachel, Joloyce and Fran who gave compassionate care to mom during her sickest days.
