Eurshel O. Nichols – Obituary

Eurshel O. Nichols, 71, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 1, 1947 in Marion County, AL to Oliver Nichols and Ela Emerson Nichols. He was a textile worker for more than fifteen years and was a member of Hodges Convention Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion.

 

Services will be Saturday, August 11, 1 p.m. at Hodges Church of Christ, Hodges, AL with Bro. Kent Walker and Drew Manley officiating. Burial will be in Old Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hodges, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

 

Survivors are three children – Brandon EJ Nichols (Misti) Hodges, AL, Tiffany L. Nichols, Florence, AL and Stacy Yealock, Haleyville, AL; three grandchildren – Bryson Nichols, Gage Keller and Preslie Nichols; five sisters – Olva Jones (Jessie, Jr.), Hodges, AL, Barbara Quillen (Charles) Russellville, AL, Marie Johnston (Hewitt) Spruce Pine, AL, Geneva Parker, Hodges, AL and Shirley Holland (Ronald) Hodges, AL; one brother – Marshall Nichols (Zelma) Hodges, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Nichols.

 

Pallbearers will be Ronald Holland, Shannon Holland, Garrett Butler, Jessie Jones, Jr., Briley Holland, Cody Holland and Gage Keller.

 

The family would like to thank North Alabama Hospice.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, August 11, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Hodges Church of Christ.
