Katherine Ann McGee – Obituary

Katherine Ann McGee, 71, died Monday, August 6, 2018, at her home after a sudden illness. She was born May 28, 1947, in Memphis, to Roy and Willie Mae Benson Blanchard. She worked for the Corps of Engineers for the Federal Aviation Administration in Memphis and Atlanta. After retirement 19 years ago, she moved to the Ratliff community of Itawamba County. She was a member of Mantachie First Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard work and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.

Services will be at 12:00 p. m. Thursday, August 9, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Bill Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Lori Barber (Robert) of Mantachie; four grandchildren, Taylor Barber Barnett (Tyler), Jordan Barber (Neely), Justin Barber (Haley), and Lynsey Barber; a sister-in-law, Stella Tranum of Hernando; three special friends, Lisa Sexton, Peggy Privett, and Amy Vanlandingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Brad Vanlandingham, Phillip Rogers, Chris Basham, Tyler Buse, Jordan Barber, and Justin Barber.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chance Cooley, Alston Dill, Andrew Dill, and Adam Dill.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a. m. until service time on Thursday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Katherine’s name, to Mantachie Softball Boosters, 211 Wyman Road, Mantachie, MS 38855.
