Eulas “Shorty” Briscoe – Obituary

Funeral service for Eulas “Shorty” Briscoe, 78, will be Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Anthony Patterson and Bro. Dewain Clemons officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  His body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Hartselle Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Briscoe died on Monday, August 6, 2018 at  his residence.  He was born May 14, 1940, in Morgan County to Rufus Briscoe and Mary Margaret Walls Briscoe.  Shorty was a lifelong resident of the Gum Springs Community. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone, never meeting a stranger.  He was big hearted and would help anyone he could at anytime. He was formerly employed by the Chrysler Corporation maintenance department, after working 20 years he retired to his beloved farm. There he could be with the animals he loved, especially his companion”Pug”, his dog. He was formerly a police officer for the Hartselle Police Department, working as a motorcycle officer, in the late 60’s and early 70’s.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosealee Briscoe, his parents, and a brother: William Rufus Briscoe.

Buddy Briscoe (Jean) and
Joe Briscoe (Nina)

Two Sisters:
Christine (Cricket) Clemons and
Vera Nell Naylor (Bobby)

Two Grandchildren:
Dustin Heath Briscoe (Stefanie) and
Ashley Marie Briscoe (Austin Hamm)

Two Great Grandchildren:
Hunter Briscoe and
Nylah Hamm

Pallbearers will be Larry Moss, Rodger Hollaway, Matt Bryant, Kody Vest, Steve Duke, and Christopher Sandlin.
