CULLMAN COUNTY-The 650-acre Duck River Reservoir in Cullman County is now open to fishing. The lake was stocked by the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Fisheries Section with largemouth bass, bluegill, and redear sunfish. It also hosts a great population of spotted bass and redbreast sunfish.

An Alabama freshwater fishing license (unless exempt) and a permit from the Cullman Utilities Board are required to fish the reservoir. Permits are free and can be found in mailboxes located at all public access points on the reservoir.

All state rules and regulations apply in this reservoir. If state requires your vessel to have a tag it is required at Duck River. You must have an Alabama fishing license to fish AND the Duck River Fishing permit.
