Gary Lynn May, 57, returned to his heavenly home on Tuesday July 31, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer. Gary was devoted to serving the Lord, his family, and his country as an retired officer in the U.S. Navy.

Gary was born in Phoenix, AZ on October 16, 1960 to Wanda and Carl May. He attended Harvey Mudd College and the US Naval Post Graduate school receiving his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Gary met the love of his life and wife of 23 years, Lisa, at age 32. He proudly served in the U.S Navy for 21 years and retired as a Commander in 2005. Upon retirement Gary worked as a contractor and consultant to the U.S government and Missle Defense Agency.

Gary enjoyed serving the Lord, spending time with his family, playing the guitar, and engaging with friends and colleagues from his local church. Gary was a devoted husband and father and selflessly gave all of his time and energy to providing them the most wonderful life imaginable.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lisa; his parents, Wanda and Carl May; his sister, Cheryl Stephan (Rob); his children, Matthew, Jacob, and Brittany; and his grandchildren, Caleb, James Jaxon, Krews, and Kaiten.

A memorial service for Gary will be held at Laughlin Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
