Hazel Smith, 85 of Leighton passed away at her home Tuesday, July 31, 2018. The family will receive friends at Colbert Memorial Chapel today, August 3, 2018 from 9 to 11 a.m with service to follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jerry Crowden officiating.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Gaddis and husband, Terry Gaddis of Montgomery; grandchildren, Brandon Briley, David Charles Smith (Tina), Tuscumbia and Cynthia Smith, Muscle Shoals; great-grandchildren, Houston Briley, Dustin Smith, Meagan George (Nick), McKencie Ivey (Jackie) and Jonathan Perkins; four great-great- grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Toebe; sister-in-law, Almarie Holder and a number of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend David Smith and son, Alton Smith.
Mrs Smith was a loving mother and grandmother.
The family wants to thank Dr. Kenneth Rose, Kindred Care, Charles Bubba Lamar (neighbor), Ricky Rohling, and the Brick Hatton local 911 first responders for the care and attention they provided.
In lieu of flowers, make donations to Brick Hatton Volunteer Fire Department.
Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
