James “Jim” Bailey, 75, of Ardmore, AL died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at his home.

Born Thursday, September 17, 1942 in Limestone Co., AL, he was the son of Edward Bailey and Frances Bratcher Bailey.

Mr. Bailey enjoyed his grandchildren, golfing, hunting and fishing. He was a Navy veteran and retired from PPG after 33 years of service to the company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant grandson, Ashton Chandler Bailey.

He is survived by his spouse, Linda Bailey, Ardmore, AL; son, Jamey Bailey, Duluth, GA; daughter, Melissa Phillips, Muscle Shoals, AL; brothers, Everett (Sue) Bailey, Ardmore, AL, Dr. William ” Bill” (Mary) Bailey, Columbus, IN and Randy (Fina) Bailey, Lincoln, AL; granddaughters, Bailey Phillips, Emily Phillips, Ashley Phillips, and Reanna Bailey, grandson, Will Phillips; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A Public Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 1:00 PM with Dr. Bill Bailey and Rev. Aaron Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or Kindred Hospice.
