Roy Dean Morris, Sr., 81, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2018 at Colbert Memorial Chapel from 11-1 p.m. with the funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Brother Mike Smith will officiate the service. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Morris was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church and retired from Reynolds after 29 years of loyal service. After retirement from Reynolds, he became the owner/operator of Dixie Septic Tank Service for 30 years.
Preceding Mr. Morris in death were his parents, Homer and Bessie Morris; and four siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 59 wonderful years, Betty Morris; sons, Roy Dean Morris, Jr. (Beverly) and Jeffery D. Morris (Dianna); daughters, Carol Morris Phipps and Kimberly A. Boston (John); brothers, Sammie (Joyce), Jerry (Sharon), John (Suzanne), and Carl (Evelyn); sisters, Dorothy Buffington (Pete), Martha Price (Tom), and Patricia Holden (Danny); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Serving as pallbearers are Dylan Boston, Tyler Fretwell, Austin Coke, Wes Morris, Hank Morris, and Roy Blankenship.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
