Lois Blankenship Craig – Obituary

Lois Blankenship Craig, Age 98, passed away on July 25, 2018 at her home in Madison, AL. Lois was born January 26, 1920 in Sharp County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Henry and Arthur Mae Blankenship. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Maurice, brothers and sisters, Gordan, Ernest, Edith Hicks and Beauton Middleton and grandson LCpl David Miles. She is survived by her precious children: sons, Michael (Bonnie) of Miramar, FL and Daniel (Sonja) of Lady Lake FL and twin daughters, Martha Mitchell (Steve) of Birmingham, AL and Nancy Miles (Larry) of Madison, AL.  Additionally, she is survived by her much loved grandchildren:  Jeffrey Craig, Katherine Mitchell, Melissa Craig, Cynthia Craig and Kristen Mitchell Sheffield (Zach).  As well as two dear great grandchildren, Jordan and Sydney Craig, loved nieces and nephews and so many special friends.

Lois loved the Lord and served him throughout her life.  She was a member at the Hughes Road/Gooch Lane Church of Christ.  Lois loved being a mother, grandmother, and a homemaker.  She excelled at sewing, cooking and entertaining.

The family wishes to express their love and thanks for the wonderful help in caring for their mother during her last years. In particular, Mary Sterling (Florida) and her Alabama caregivers: Shirley Cook, Arillas (Tina) Akpaudo, Tammy Franck, Barbara Fitch and a special thanks to Hospice of the Valley.

Visitation will be held at Legacy Chapel in Madison, Al. Saturday July 28 from 11AM-1PM. A Funeral Service will follow at 1PM.

Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida Tuesday July 31 at 11AM.
