Kenneth L. Butler – Obituary

Kenneth L. Butler, 95, passed from this life on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Shawn and Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be in Tri- Cities Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth was born August 26, 1922 and was a lifelong resident of Florence. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Allie Holland Butler.

Survivors include his wife Pat Smith Butler; stepdaughter, Deborah Roskos (Larry) of Hewitt, Texas; stepsons, Mark Smith (Melodie) of Hewitt, Texas and Shawn Smith (Marti) of Odessa, Texas; numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by “His Girls” Pam Romine and Judy Thompson.

Kenneth was a faithful member of East Florence Church of Christ and retired from Reynolds Metals Company after 39 years of service. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He loved to laugh and shared his humor with many friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Ken Romine, Gary James, David Wilson, Dickey Howard, Greg Richardson, Ron Williams, Steve Spurgeon and Tom Caraway.
