Charlene Baggett, 90, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Generations Nursing facility of Red Bay, AL. She was born July 5, 1928 in Vina, AL to Willis F. Ledbetter and Tressie Pleasant Ledbetter. She married Bro. Lowell Baggett on December 23, 1944. As a pastor’s wife with her talent of singing and music, she directed choirs for adult and children and assisted Lowell in writing music and lyrics. Together they served churches in Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Arizona and Alabama. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Red Bay, AL.
Services will be Saturday, July 28, 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Bill Harper officiating. Burial will be in Pilot Hill Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-four years – Bro. Lowell Baggett, Red Bay, AL; three children – Glenda Baggett, Red Bay, AL, Terry Baggett (Jan) Houston, TX and Karen Tilford, Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren – Christopher Sprabary (Christina), Hayley Cavin, Lindsey McGovern (Brad), Dr. Sean Tilford (Margaret Anne) and Tyler Tilford; five great-grandchildren and two sisters – Glennis Pike and Sue Stephens.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 28, 12-1 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
