Joyal Leo Guthrie, age 85 of Pulaski, TN, passed away on Sunday evening July 22, 2018 at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 13, 1932 in Elkmont, AL, to Issac and Mary Guthrie.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, lifelong member of VFW, farmer and retired journeyman iron-worker. From 1973 to 1988, he ran Guthrie Steel Company in Pigeon Roost. He was a member of First Baptist Church Pulaski.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. The funeral service will start at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Kevin Wells. The burial will follow in Giles Memory Gardens in Pulaski.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents Issac and Mary Guthrie and eleven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years Shirley McClure Guthrie and brother Bobby (Pat) Guthrie.
Sons, Tim (Annelle) and Mark Guthrie, and daughter, Lisa (Bill) Guthrie Hopper.

He was an irreplaceable papa to Graham Guthrie, Devon (Zack) Guthrie Donegan, Neely (Will) Guthrie Dockins, Rachel Hopper, Parker (Michelle) Guthrie, Ben Hopper, and great grandchildren Bradie Donegan and Marshall Donegan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Joyal Leo Guthrie.
