Demp Garrison – Obituary

Demp Garrison, 86, died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Southern Magnolia Estates, Golden, MS. He was born May 10, 1932 in Franklin County, AL and was a barber for more than forty years. He was a charter member of Cornerstone Church of God, Red Bay, AL.

 

Services will be Sunday, July 22, 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God with Rev. Kip Box and Bro. Rick Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

 

Survivors are his wife of sixty-eight years – Ruby McKinney Garrison, Red Bay, AL; special niece – Charlotte Townsend, Vina, AL and a host of other nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law – Opal Garrison and Ann Garrison Starling.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker Garrison and Annie Cole Bennett Garrison, a daughter, Brenda Gail Garrison, one sister, Ruby Vinson and four brothers, Comer, Earl, Hudson and Guy Grider Garrison.

 

His nephews will serve as pallbearers – Lloyd Williams, Frank Garrison, Jim Garrison, Glenn Garrison, Thomas Estes, Jerry McKinney, David McKinney and Raymond McKinney.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, July 21, 6-9 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God and until service time on Sunday.
