Mr. Clayburn “Goob” Prater, 56, passed from this life Thursday July 12, 2018 from a sudden illness. Mr. Prater was a logger and employed by JLN Logging. He attended the Church of God and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Prater was preceded in death by his parents Loyd Prater and Anna Faye Summers Prater and a brother Gary Prater.
He is survived by his loving wife Denise Presley Prater, Sons; Jackie (Stephine) Prater of Algood, TN, Dewayne (Ashley) Prater of Sparta, TN, Bothers; Stanley and Jessie Prater, Sister; Rhonda Baggett. Grandchildren; Jayden, Jackson, James, Jacklyn, Skylar and Addi.
Visitation will be Saturday July 14, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 PM at Layne Funeral Home, funeral service will be held Sunday July 15, 2018 at 4:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Edward Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Hitchcock Cemetery in the Brockdell Community.
