Sue Elaine Burnum – Obituary

Mrs. Sue Elaine Burnum, 72, of Gurley, passed away on July 11, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Burnum was born in Jackson County, AL to Roy Duncan & Flora Mae Summers Smith.  She worked as a production work for Chrysler for numerous years. Mrs Burnum will be well remembered for her amazing artistic talent. Her love for arts & crafts was endless. Her many favorite ways to spend time creating was drawing, painting, woodworking, stained glass, gardening, playing the piano. She also enjoyed fishing. To simply say she was an avid Roll Tide fan doesn’t come close to describing her love for Alabama Football.

Mrs. Burnum is preceded in death by husbands Bobby Joe Phillips and Frank M. Burnum; parents, son, Jimmy Cam Phillips.

She is survived by daughters Angela (Thomas) Gibbs and Joy (Greg) Battle; nephew/son Johnny Stewart; sisters Shirley Chase and Jean Fischer; grandchildren Zaire Battle, Dontay Battle, Jacob Miller, Shantel Miller; great-grandchildren Elizabeth Miller and Bentley Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
