Rose Marie Hackworth Atkinson of Huntsville passed away at the young age of 58.  She lived a life of adventure, travelling around the the world, speaking multiple languages, and embracing many people.

She was a lover of animals.  Working at an animal refuge, collecting strays, and even surviving a vicious chimpanzee attack.  She was the cool aunt.  She thought of her nieces and nephews as her own; educating them about her love for hard rock, long hair and tight jeans.  She gave out candy, took the kids for late night swims, and brought wolves, tiger cubs and baby bears to every child’s birthday.

Rose took care of her mother after her dad passed away and provided emotional support for her family.

A long time resident of Huntsville, she was sweet, kind hearted, generous and loved everyone she met.  She joined her parents Robie and Virginia Hackworth in heaven on July 10th, 2018.

She is survived by two sisters Lynn and Robin; her brother Ben; five nephews; two nieces; one sister-in-law Jan Tielking and her brother-in-law Gary Tielking; and her loving husband Andy Still.

There are no services planned at this time.  Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
