After Car Crash Woman Jumps From I-65 Bridge

LIMESTONE COUNTY- The Female who jumped off the I-65 bridge has been caught by Marine Police near the river and is now in custody of deputies for transfer to theDecatur Police Department.

The Decatur Police Department has confirmed that both suspects are in custody and thanked all agencies that helped with the situation.

According to Alabama Department of Transportation the  incident slowed down traffic between the bridge and I-565.

The statement concerning this incident released by The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency:

  “At approximately 12:50 p.m., Alabama State Troopers were notified about a vehicle pursuit on I-65 south near the Tennessee River Bridge. The vehicle did crash on the bridge. The driver, a white female, fled on foot. A white male was apprehended at the scene by Alabama State Troopers and turned over to Decatur Police.

ALEA aviation, Alabama State Troopers, Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Decatur Police are on scene searching for the female. State Troopers are working the crash and there were no injuries.

 I-65 southbound between I-565 and the river bridge is congested, but is moving slowly. Nothing further is available from the Alabama State Troopers.”
