With her loving family by her side, Barbara Easter Barnette passed away peacefully at her home and went to be with her Lord Tuesday morning. She was the matriarch of her family and spent her life nourishing her family and friends with love, faith and prayer. She will always be remembered for her love of gospel singing and her being a tower of strength for her loved ones.
Mrs. Barnette was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Effie Legg Easter of Athens, AL, sisters, Edith Thornton and Marjorie Easter, and brother, Torrance Easter.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Barnette; daughters, Linda Hamaker and Jan Dill; sons, Brad Barnette and Alex Barnette; grandchildren, Catrina Swader (Tim), Brandy Clark (Jerry), Brandon and Jathan Barnette and Scott Dill; great-grandchildren, Teryn, Jake and Sawyer Swader and Stone and Grace Clark; and brother, Glendon Easter.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the funeral following in the chapel. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Dement Cemetery in Limestone County.
