Imogene Alexander Brackin – Obituary

Imogene Alexander Brackin, 88, of Town Creek passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at her home. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Town Creek Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Ralph Key officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Town Creek with Lawrence Funeral Home assisting the family.

Born on December 17, 1929, to the late John Thomas and Ida Eveline Day Alexander in Lawrence County, Alabama, Imogene was a member of Town Creek Church of Christ.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Brackin (Wanda) and Phillip Brackin (Ellen); grandchildren, Samuel Reed Brackin (Lori), James Kevin Brackin (Leanne), Jennifer Ann Knowlton (Charlie), and Christy Leigh McCulloch (Blake); great-grandchildren, Alex, Adaline, Addison, Amelia, Bentley, James, Benjamin, Mary Nell, and John Thomas.

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, James Alvie “Dink” Brackin; brothers, Clifton Alexander, Manuel Alexander, Haston Alexander, Coolidge Alexander, and Charlie Price Alexander; and sisters, Geneva Buttram and Bessie Mae McCorkle.

Pallbearers will be Bill Alexander, Joe McCorkle, Sam Brackin, Kevin Brackin, Charlie Knowlton, and Blake McCulloch.

The family extends special thanks to Joyce Terry, her caregiver and to Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
