Bervil Delone Davis – Obituary

Funeral services  for Bervil Delone Davis, 87, of Madison are Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating, burial  with military honors at Central Baptist Cemetery. Visitation on Monday from noon to 2 p.m.

Cullman Funeral Home, 461 U.S. Highway 278 East, Cullman, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Davis passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018.  He was born January 14, 1931 to Dewey Eli and Zora Bell Ragland Davis. Mr. Davis, a native of Cullman, graduated from West Point High School in 1949. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired from NASA in 1990. He was an engineering graduate of the University of Alabama and earned a Ph.D from the University of Oklahoma. He also served as an Adjunct Professor of Administrative Science and Budget Director at UAH. In 1997, Mr. Davis retired as Vice President and General Manager of Pace & Waite, Inc. Since retirement, he was active in both the Huntsville and Madison Senior Centers where he served on the RSVP Advisory Council, line danced, worked as an AARP Tax-Aide Instructor/Counselor, served as a volunteer for TARCOG, and was a member/President of the Huntsville Senior Center Board of Directors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Sims Davis of Madison, his parents and his brother, Lee  Edward Davis of Cullman.

Survivors include; one daughter, Renee Davis Nichols (Stanley) of Atlanta, Georgia and one son, Dan O. Davis (Sandy) of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
