Florence Police Working Three Separate Shooting Cases From Last Week

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department held a press conference on Thursday, July 5 regarding several cases they have been working over the last couple of months.  Also in this conference there was an update on the murder of Christopher Devon Cobb:

“On June 22, 2018, at approximately 5pm officers with the Florence Police Department responded to 2251 Helton Drive, Four Seasons Apartments, to a welfare check. Responding officers met with detectives from the Muscle Shoals Police Department who were investigating a ‘missing person report.’

Arrest were made in Memphis, TN of Hannah B. Burrows, an 18-year-old white female from Tennessee, and Jesse James Parker, a 31-year-old black male from Tennessee. Both subject were brought back to Alabama after an extradition hearing was conducted. Ms Burrows and Mr Parker are currently in the Lauderdale County Detention Center. Ms. Burrows has a $50,000.00 bond and Mr. Parker has a $100,000.00 bond. On Tuesday of this week we were notified by Memphis PD that they had located the vehicle. Detectives went to Memphis to help with recovery of the vehicle. The vehicle was brought back to Florence that same day. We would like to thank Muscle Shoals Police Department, the Memphis Police Department, and the Florence and Memphis Area FBI Safe Streets Task Force for their assistance in these arrests.

On June 30, 2018 at approximately 6pm Officers with the Florence Police Department responded to ECM ER to an assault call. When officers arrived they found a white male that had been shot in the face with none life threatening injuries. The victim stated that he and his roommate was involved in a fight and a firearm was pulled out. During the fight the victim was shot in the face. Detectives are still working the case to determine the cause and who shot the weapon. At this time no names are being released.

 

On July 1, 2018 at approximately 7:50pm officers with the Florence Police Department responded to person down call at N Cedar St and W Mobile St. When officers arrived the victim had been transported to ECM ER. Officers responded to the ER and found a black male that had been shot in the thigh and had none life threatening injuries. The victim stated that he was involved in a fight with another black male. The two subject were not friends but did know each other. The offender pulled a weapon and shot the victim in the thigh and then left the scene. The patrol officers that responded to the scene did find a shell casing. Detectives are still working the case to determine the cause and who shot the weapon. At this time no names are being released.  

 

On July 4, 2018 at approximately 1:20am Florence Police Department received a call of a female that had been shot and was being transported to ECM by privately owned vehicle. Once at ECM officers spoke to the boyfriend of the victim. He stated that he was driving down Chisholm Rd when someone in a dark colored Chevrolet Cruze confronting them at the traffic light at Cox Creek Parkway.  They continued on Chisholm Rd, the Chevrolet continued driving aggressive following them to Malone Cir where someone in the Cruze exited the vehicle and shot several times at the vehicle the victim was riding in.

 One of the shots entered the vehicle hitting victim in the neck. The vehicle was hit multiple times during the shooting.

The victim is Cassie Sartain, a dispatcher for Colbert County 911 center. She was transported to Huntsville Hospital and was in stable condition as of this morning.

This is an ongoing investigation and we are continuing search for the offenders.
