Alabama State Senator District 6 Dr. Larry Stutts

NORTH ALABAMA – The runoff election for Alabama State Senate District 6 is scheduled for July 17 in just under 2 weeks. The Quad-Cities Daily reaches out to the various campaigns that affect our coverage area to give the candidates an opportunity to express their motivation and passions for their election campaigns. We recently were sent a position statement from incumbent State Senator Larry Stutts for publication. We present it here.

For Senator Larry Stutts, the Fourth of July took on new meaning – one where he sees positive momentum for our citizens.

“In November of 2016, concerned Americans sent a signal that they believe in the vision of our Founders,” said Stutts. “They cast their vote for less government, more freedom, and more opportunity. Today, we are seeing the results. This Fourth of July, we experienced the reality that we are freer than we have been in decades.”

Stutts pointed to the new tax cuts, a series of more restrained Supreme Court decisions, the opportunity to appoint a new justice, and fewer government regulations to underscore his point. He went on to say that the positive momentum isn’t coming exclusively from Washington, DC.

“President Trump is doing a great job, and I am grateful for all the work that he and his allies are doing at the federal level,” he continued. “Here in Alabama, Governor Ivey and our Republican team have seized that momentum to pass further tax cuts, shrink the size and scope of government, secure religious freedom and gun rights, protect the right to life, defend the border and uphold the law, and preserve our history. The policy we are passing in Montgomery is coupling with the efforts of the Trump Administration to make Alabamians more free.”

A proud father and grandfather, Stutts frequently cites the next generation as reasons for his public service. For those same reasons, Stutts believes there was greater cause for celebration this holiday.

“For perhaps the first time in my lifetime, leadership at both the federal level and the state level is working hand in hand to bring more freedom to our people,” he concluded. “Northwest Alabama has more jobs than ever before, the markets are thriving, and government is shrinking. Our rights and values are being protected to a greater degree, and I am honored to partner with President Trump and Governor Ivey to pass a stronger, more prosperous, and freer state to the next generations.”
