July 4th Celebrations Around The Valley…Food…Fun…Fireworks!

TENNESSEE VALLEY-Fourth of July…The United States celebrates yet another birthday and of course we have food fun and FIREWORKS!

Here are just a few firework celebrations….find one near you.

Spirit of Freedom celebrate Independence Day in the Shoals! Live musicians perform all day, food vendors are onsite, and activities for the entire family will all be at the park throughout the day. The Independence Day Celebration culminates with one of the largest fireworks shows in the Southeast.

Fireworks begin at 9PM.

 

Spirit of America starts at9 p.m., Point Mallard Park, Decatur. Free If watching from the field, which opens at 3 p.m., arrive early to beat the traffic.

NARCOG will operate shuttles from the GE parking area on Point Mallard Parkway and the Princess Theatre in downtown Decatur to the Spirit of America Field. The shuttles will run from 6 to 11 p.m. Wristbands for unlimited rides cost $2.

The festival will kick off with the Children’s Bike Parade at 10 a.m. at T.C. Almon Recreation Center. Registering for the event is free and will begin at 9 a.m.

Red, White and Boom fireworks at 8 p.m. or later, Athens High School Stadium. Free.

Prime viewing spots include outside of the high school stadium, Swan Creek Park, Athens Greenway, Athens Park and Recreation Center and Central Church of Christ.

Independence Day Celebration beginning at 6 p.m.-dark, Somerville Courthouse lawn. Free.

Music from Christian artist Laurent Talley, a children’s play area and activities will entertain attendees at the celebration organized by Somerville Baptist Church. Fireworks will begin at dusk.

July Fourth Celebration an all day celebration from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fireworks at 9 p.m., U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville. Free.

For a prime viewing spot, head to Bridge Street and look east. At the Space and Rocket Center, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., general admission for children ages 12 and younger will be free. Admission for ages 13 and older is $25.

4th of July Celebration at Joe Wheeler State Park 3:30pm- Children’s Popsicle Eating Contest for ages 0-12 on the Lodge Patio
7:00pm- Children’s Bike & Golf Cart Parade Will Start and End at the Campground Country Store
7:30pm- Announcement of the Campsite Decoration Contest Winners at the Campground Country Store

Patriotic Campsite Decoration Contest

Show your patriotic colors for this 4th of July campsite decoration contest, judged both in daylight and dark. Judging considerations will be patriotic appropriateness, originality and attractiveness. Electric lights are permitted but not required for entry. Campers need to complete decorations by 5 P.M. on July 3rd and remove them before vacating the campsite. In addition there will be a variety of programs offered over the holiday weekend.

DeSoto State Park’s Annual Independence Day events atop Lookout Mountain: This annual event is fun for both children & adults! Celebrate Independence Day and enjoy good ol’ fashioned fun at DeSoto State Park. Participate in the flag making contest, sit back & enjoy DeSoto’s parade, & eat home-made ice cream at the annual ice cream social. Free to the Public; Great for all ages.

Jam on Sloss Lake July 4th Celebration starts off with the Cotton Flats Cruisers Car Show is from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fireworks around 9:40 p.m. The music line-up throughout the day is as follows:

Jacob Green 9:00 a.m. – 9:50 a.m.
Still Here 10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.
KGB 11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.

City of Madison 2018 Stars and Stripes Forever July 4th Celebration.  Dublin Park is the place to be on July 4th. The Celebration will begin with inflatable activities lined up all around Soccer Field #1. Children and Adults of all ages can enjoy games, activities and even try to find their way through the 70 ft Obstacle Course. When you get too hot….take a splash down the 62 ft Water Slide or sit underneath the giant Tent in the shade. Parking for the event will be at Bob Jones High School with Shuttle Services provided by the City of Madison. Shuttle services will begin running at 1:45 pm with the last pick up at 8:45 pm. Following the event, the Shuttles will take you back to Bob Jones High School. Handicap parking ONLY will be allowed at Dublin Park.

Inflatable Activities, Games, Live Entertainment, Exhibits, Demonstrations will be set up from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
