Larry Eugene Lindsay – Obituary

Larry Eugene Lindsay, of Athens, Alabama, died of natural causes on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Tuscumbia. He was 71.

He was born to Margaret and Bob Lindsay on July 25, 1946, in Limestone County. He graduated from Athens High School in 1964. He assisted his brother Bobby with their father’s cotton farm at Harris Station for several years while also working at Sears in Decatur. He later attended Auburn University. A former member of the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Lindsay owned and operated TriCounty International in Tuscumbia for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Bobby Lindsay, all of Athens. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Webb Lindsay; by his children, Lewis Lindsay, of Kansas City, Missouri; Laurie Lindsay, of Athens; Lee Lindsay, of Auburn; Lane Lindsay, of Phenix City; and Curtis Lindsay, of Huntsville; by his grandchildren, Lucas and Jena Lindsay, of Auburn; and Tristan and Ty Lindsay, of Phenix City; by his sister, Betty Lindsay Taylor, of Athens; and by several nieces, cousins, and other members of the Hammons and Lindsay families.

Visitation will be at Limestone Chapel in Athens on Tuesday, July 3, at 1 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m., with interment in the Athens City Cemetery afterward. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Lindsay’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, to the Athens-Limestone County Animal Shelter, or to another charity of choice.
