John T. Jackson – Obituary

John T. Jackson was born in Mount Hope on December 29, 1934.

He confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Town Creek Number One Baptist Church.

He graduated from Moulton High School school in 1952 in Moulton. He then volunteered for the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict on a destroyer for over three years before being honorably discharged in 1955. He went on to work for Reynolds Metals Company for 35 years, advancing to the position of Superintendent.

John was predeceased by his son, Rodrick Jackson Sr.; his parents, Bluitt and Bernice Jackson; brothers, Robert Jackson and Richard Jackson; and sister, Maggie Jo Reed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a wonderful wife of 57 years, Patricia; two daughters, Bridgett Jackson and Dr. Cassandra Jackson (Reginald Ross); one sister, Clarice Appleby of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for John will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Florence. Rev. Dr. Laurentis Barnett officiating. Entombment in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence. The body will be placed in the church at noon. The public viewing will be today, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
